In May, on an overall basis 38,000 folios were added to the mutual fund industry, as per Amfi data. Total folio in MF stood at over 4.79 crore in May against 4.78 crore in April. Folio numbers indicate the number of investor accounts with the industry ? and at any given point, there could many folios maintained by a single investor. The folio of equity schemes in May stood at 4.07 lakh crore which was marginally down compared to April. In January, 2010 the equity folio were at 4.10 lakh crore.
