Dunlop India Ltd has asked for a loan of Rs 100 crore from the West Bengal Industrial Development Corporation (WBIDC) to resume production, as, according to company claims, banks are refusing to provide working capital.

Production at the Sahagunj factory of Dunlop has been suspended since November 17. The management has asked the workers to sign an agreement that the employees will have to make do with Rs 2,000 each per month.

However, the workers refused to comply and since then, they have been agitating in front of the factory gate. They have also requested the state government to intervene into the matter.
