Taking cue from big brother CPI(M), the CPI has also decided not to invite the Singhalese Leftist party Janata Vimukti Perumana (JVP) to its party Congress to begin at Hyderabad on Sunday. Interestingly, the CPI, which had sent an invitation to the JVP, has decided to cancel it on ?mutual understanding? with the JVP leadership.
?We talked to the JVP leadership. Considering the atmosphere in Tamil Nadu we decided to withdraw the invitation sent to the JVP, of course with their consent,? a senior CPI leader told FE. The leader, however, added that the party considers JVP as an ?important Left party? in South Asia.
