Citizens should make effective use of existing consumer laws as they continue to be an exploited lot, according to state consumer forum President N P Bhat.
He was speaking at a programme yesterday to mark World Conumser Rights Day.
Bhat also released a booklet on consumer rights and urged authorities to set up a food laboratory in Dharwad.
Deputy Director of Food and Civil Supplies, Sharanabasappa said the Government was conducting awareness programmes at schools and colleges to sensitise students on consumer laws.
