The team of Bureau of Energy Efficiency comprising Pawan K Tiwari, advisor-SMEs and Gaurav Kumar, project engineer visited Baddi on Friday to interact and apprise the Industrialists on various schemes of BEE for SMEs to enhance the internal competitiveness through improvements in production and throughput processes, energy usage, product quality, cost-effectiveness, technology in use and using a Cluster approach.

YS Guleria, convenor of CII Himachal Pradesh skills development panel while sharing the objective of this workshop said large numbers of MSMEs, were located in clusters in various states of the countries, with large potential for energy savings.

Thus the expected outcome of the project would be to guide the participating companies towards achieving overall excellence in their business operations. Guleria further emphasised that energy efficiency is one of the key areas where CII Cluster approach helps SMEs to enhance their competitiveness by identification of avoidable energy losses, quantification of losses, recommendations for minimising/eliminating the identified losses, monitoring support in implementation, training & guideline for implementation and vendor identification.
