Chana prices rose by adding Rs 19 to Rs 2,562 per quintal in futures trade on Friday as speculators offloaded their positions, supported by a firming trend at spot markets on increased demand.
At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, chana for delivery in June rose by Rs 19, or 0.75 per cent to Rs 2,562 per quintal, with an open interest of 12,77,750 lots.
The commodity for delivery in July contract also moved up by Rs 18, or 0.69 per cent to Rs 2,636 per quintal in 1,86,860 lots.
Traders attributed the rise in chana futures to the rising demand in the spot market.
