The job: There is never a dull moment! Being a part of the exciting e-commerce industry, I learn new things about customers and their online behaviour every day. While it keeps me on my toes, this data is invaluable for me and my team to find new ways to drive demand for the business. I have a great team which keeps coming up with new ideas and thoughts to execute ? this keeps the job really exciting for me.
The weekdays: A typical weekday starts at 6:15 am; I go through my e-mails to track if all went well during the night! I hit the gym at 6:45 am and spend an hour there – this is my biggest stress buster for the day. I leave home around 8:45 am and catch up on some music on the way. The real work starts around 9:30 am with checking on some daily reports, and working with the team to figure out what could be done better. Meanwhile, a quick catch-up with Rajesh (our CEO) during the first half helps align priorities. The day follows with lots of meetings with business partners, brainstorming with the team on the way forward and some 101 meetings.
The weekend: Weekends are for family! With all the excitement related to work, work-life balance suffers and one would like to keep a strong focus on that as well. It’s a lazy start to the day; I hit the gym around 11 am. I do some catch-up on e-mail; watch a movie, dine out, meet some friends, etc. I do keep 2-3 hours on Sunday afternoon for planning the week ahead and thinking on what can be done better.
The toys: I love my iPhone and the Dell XPS and can?t live without them. Between these two, I am able to stay connected to my offline and online world. Over the weekend, these two give way to Xbox Kinect and some fun with my son.
The logos: Brands are quite an integral part of our world these days. However, I am not as driven by brands and prioritise the design aesthetic for my clothes and accessories. For formal wear, I prefer Wills and Louis Philippe while Nautica and Levi’s contribute to Friday dressing and informals in my wardrobe. Burberry and Tissot help provide exclusivity.
