The Biju Patnaik University of Technology (BPUT) has confirmed its partnership with the Turin University of Italy and Australia’s University of Ballarat. While negotiation with the former will be for architecture programmes, the tieup with the latter will concentrate on MBA courses.

According to BPUT sources, the university is planning to rope in another German university to improve curriculum, teaching and research.

Prioritising the growing demands from the mining industries in the state, BPUT is setting up a mineral engineering centre at its Orissa School of Mining Engineering at Keonjhar to strengthen its teaching programmes.

The university is also planning more under-graduate programmes in metallurgical and steel engineering, the sources added.
