He wishes people would take to the waterways instead of the roads. ?When two-thirds of the earth is covered with water, I wonder why people still buy more cars and then complain about pot-holed roads? Use the waterways instead,? he says. That?s Riyhad Kundanmal, director, Ocean Crest Marine, who sells Formula and Monterey yachts from the USA and UK. Kundanmal?s latest offering is Alibi, a 50ft yacht that can carry over 100 people. He prefers to call it a ?floating hotel?. With seven storeys, a helipad, space for two to three cars in her belly, jet skis, a spa, casino, stage, and a crew of 16, besides equipment for water sports, the Alibi is yet to reach Indian shores. The price? Rs 400 crore. As many as eight people, including erstwhile royal families, industrialists and even politicians are waiting to own her. With so many people clamouring for Alibi, Kundanmal has now decided to bid her. But the Alibi is a rarity for Kundanmal. Most of his other yatches are targeted at the masses. ?Our other yachts start at Rs 15 lakh and are for the common man.? Kundanmal sure is trying to do with yachts what Ratan Tata has done with the Nano.
