Barley prices fell by 12.40 to Rs 1,377 per quintal in futures trade on Friday on profit booking by speculators at prevailing high levels, amid a weak domestic trend.
At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, barley prices for delivery in July fell by Rs 12.40, or 0.89 per cent, to Rs 1,377 per quintal, with an open interest of 3,360 lots.
Likewise, its prices for delivery in June shed Rs 1.60, or 0.12 per cent, to Rs 1,370.80 per quintal, with a business turnover of 9,600 lots.
Market analysts said apart from profit taking, weak spot market trend mainly led to fall in barley futures prices.
