What could be termed as a major leap in the Jammu and Kashmir’s insurance sector, Bajaj Allianz General Insurance Company launched a service aimed at settling motor insurance claims up to Rs 20,000 within 24 hours.

J&K Bank President G A Regoo formally launched the service — Bajaj Allianz Drive In Centre (BADIC).

Regoo termed the service customer friendly. “Its pre-paid claim settlement feature that too within 24 hours, shall empower the insured to negotiate directly with the repairer of his choice, thereby, getting him the best value for money.”

He said the service would cover small motor claims up to Rs 20,000, besides limiting the role and influence of the repairer in claim settlement process.

“In case of damage, the insured just needs to inform us.

An assessor will be dispatched to assess the loss. On the basis of that report, case would be processed for settlement within a timeline of 24 hours. Eventually the customer would be handed over a cheque and it is then his discretion as to where he would get his vehicle repaired,” Bajaj Allianz Area Manager Aijaz Ahmed said.

“This shall mean that customers no longer need to produce

bills. We will pay upfront on assessment,” he said.
