It was the urge to get ?involved with something more focussed and futuristic? that made Ronald D?Mello join Maya Entertainment Ltd (MEL) as its CEO. He quit UTV after 17 years. Says D?Mello, ?Maya offered that opportunity. It?s a focussed business company in animation and VFX?.
D?Mello started his career with UTV as a 25-year-old and rose to the position of COO of UTV before the restructuring exercise, after which he was made the executive director and new media head of UTV Software Communications. Says D?Mello, ?My agenda is to mature the true potential of Maya in education, animation services, outsourcing and owning content.? It shouldn?t be difficult, considering that the animation industry in the country has been gaining more ground by the day.
