Amway India is planning an additional investment of Rs 55 crore and would be tripling its production capacities at its vendor plant in Baddi. The proposed expansion would be to add more production lines and also look at newer categories.

The company has already invested Rs 50 crore in its India operations and also has plans to develop products from India to cater to the global markets as well.

The company would be entering new categories. The capacity expansion at the Baddi facility is a drive for making the country as a manufacturing hub for the overseas markets. About 85% of Amway product sold in the country is manufactured by its vendor, Sarvotham Care, Amway MD and CEO William S Pinckney told FE.

Work at the Baddi plant is expected to be completed by this year end and four new lines are expected to be added to the existing five lines. ?We plan to triple the production capacities and expand in the nutrition and wellness segment,? he said.
