BenQ?s focus towards gaming is admirable from day one. They have launched some of the best monitors for gaming in the past and were the first ones to bring a 22-inch full HD monitor with HDMI as well as an energy efficient Eco monitor to India. With the onset of 3D, this time they are the first ones to bring in a full HD 3D LED monitor to India.

The XL2410T monitor is BenQ?s offering that has been made with recommendations from two of today?s best-known Counter-Strike players?Mil ?HeatoN? Christensen and Abdisamad ?SpawN? Mohamed. The 24-inch monitor has a matte finish with buttons present on the front underside. We hated the fact that these buttons or the indication text for them were not backlit. This posed a problem when we wanted to change settings in a dark environment. The monitor allows tailoring the height, tilt, pivot, stroke and even has swivel adjustment. The backside houses the connectivity ports that includes ? DVI, D-sub and HDMI as well as a headphone jack on the side. The monitor weighs a whopping 6.3 kg, but once setup, it is pure eye candy.

The 23.6-inch LED monitor has a widescreen display with a 16:9 aspect ratio and a 1920 x 1080 full HD resolution. It has 1,000:1 contrast ratio and 10 million: 1 dynamic contrast ratio for optimum viewing pleasure. Furthermore, the monitor comes with 120 Hz refresh rate and a 2 ms response time which makes the monitor a gamer?s dream. The monitor feature a ?display mode? hotkey that allows for quick switching between various screen size modes as per the user?s requirement. The smart scaling feature comes into play while using display modes and allows a user to view content in the best possible resolution on the same monitor. Secondly, the monitor has a FPS mode, which is specifically meant for first person shooter games such as Counter-Strike. The mode provides gamers with accurate representation of the view in the game to provide perfect colors and be able to perform better.

We tested the monitor using Displaymate benchmark and other than the standard issue with the colour regeneration, the monitor cleared the tests with perfect scores. We ran various games from Call of Duty to Need for Speed on the monitor and it performed spectacularly with zero ghosting, vibrant colours and sharp details across games. The black levels and white levels of the monitor were excellent across games and movies and made it a joy to use. What was most impressive was the 3D performance that the monitor provided. We tested the 3D performance with NVIDIA?s 3D vision kit with Batman: Arkham Asylum and Unigine Heaven benchmark and also played a few 3D videos. The monitor?s 3D rendition is top notch with unbelievable depth of field in games as well as videos.

The monitor boasts of picture-by-picture feature where in input from different sources can be viewed side-by-side. The XL2410T is currently the only monitor available in India that offers full HD resolution with 120Hz refresh rate for 3D content as well as various adjustment options along with LED backlighting. Unfortunately, at its price of Rs 31,200 the monitor is out of the reach of an average Indian gamer. The only competition that is present is the Alienware OptX AW2310 monitor that comes for Rs 33,000 but that one does not perform as good
