The job: I love the fact that I do what I believe in and what I am passionate about. I am a die-hard believer of insurance and the value it provides. It is an essential requirement for everyone and it is perhaps the only product that one can never buy when one needs it. Therefore my focus is to educate the customer and simplify the different life insurance concepts. The fact that I influence so many lives and help them in getting financially secure, gives me tremendous satisfaction. Every time we pay a claim?the main reason for selling a life insurance policy?I feel I have helped someone in their hour of need.
The weekdays: My day begins at about 6.30 am with a few Suryanamskars or pranayam. I tend to work about 12 hours on an average and 18 hours when I travel. I look forward to the interaction with my team and take absolute delight in planning below-the-line (BTL) activities. My focus is to create a work environment that is bustling with energy and activity but at the same time is stress free.
The weekend: My first priority is to finish any work that is pending and has been pushed over the week towards the weekend. On Saturdays I catch up with office work that I wanted to spend more time on but couldn?t do so. I also do my planning for the week ahead to ensure that people who want my time and attention get it on priority. I clear almost everything pending to make sure that I can enjoy my free time. I am a great movie buff and love catching up on the latest movies.
The toys: I like to keep it simple! However, my BlackBerry and MP3 player are two gadgets that I really can?t do without. Of late, I am hooked to the iPad for its convenience, versatility and the bigger screen!
The logos: Like most people my age, I saw the economy open up to the private sector and during the initial years, provide opportunities that we had not imagined. I grew up with strong middle class values that questioned the money spent and value received. I do believe that ?brands do not maketh a man? and the brand has to stand for quality, durability and comfort. Luckily, I just love saris and the brands in a sari are more material and place based. I am very fond of my south silk saris, admire the sheerness of the Chanderis and Maheshwaris and equally love the Tussars of the east!
