The RBI has proposed new guidelines to enhance the Lead Bank Scheme, which aims to support priority sectors and inclusive growth. The framework will redefine objectives, clarify roles and responsibilities, and improve the effectiveness of SLBCs and LDM offices. Banks will be required to hold quarterly meetings and maintain a CD ratio of up to 60% in rural and semi-urban branches.
