Jusco reaches Bhopal, aims for other cities under JNURM
The company, which won the contract through a bidding process, is to commence work soon on the year-long 'leak detection & rectification' project.
The BMC project, worth Rs 2.20 crore, is being funded by the Asian Development Bank under the urban water supply & environmental improvement project of the Madhya Pradesh government.
"The unaccounted-for-water contract is an affirmation of Jusco's experience and expertise in the field of water infrastructure and distribution," Rajesh Rajan, Jusco's head of corporate communication, told FE.
Jusco, which currently manages the potable water system in the leasehold area of Jamshedpur , recently won a water management contract in Haldia ( West Bengal ).
It is also slated to sign shortly a 30-year BOT (build, operate & transfer) contract with the Kolkata Metropolitan Development Authority for development & management of the water supply & sewerage system in Sector V of Kolkata's Salt Lake .
Augmentation of the drinking water supply system for Bihar's Muzzaffarpur town (2nd phase) and supply as well as laying & commissioning of raw water conveyance from Kharkai river for the Uranium Corp of India's Turamdih mines are some of the projects Jusco's water division bagged recently.
The company, which has offices in Bangalore and Delhi apart from Jamshedpur , is going to open one in Kolkata on Saturday.
