Vinay Mittal appointed railway board chairman

The appointments committee of the Cabinet on Thursday appointed Vinay Mittal as the railway board chairman, dashing minister of state in the railway ministry Mukul Roy’s hope of placing member mechanical Sajiv Handa on that position. Mittal, who was the South-Eastern Railway general manager before the appointment, will replace Vivek Sahai who superannuated on June 30. However, three other posts on the board that fell vacant on Thursday remained so till the time of going to press.

Roy, who is the general secretary of the All-India Trinamool Congress, had suggested Handa’s name for the new chairman of the national transporter even though he did not meet the eligibility criteria. As per the rules for appointment of the chairman, a person already on the railway board has to have at least one year of service left.

If the candidate is not on the board, then the minimum time to retirement should be two years. Handa has only eight months of service left as he retires at the end of February 2012. Mittal, on the other hand, has exactly two years of service left as he will superannuate in June 2013.

I am very much humble to beg and pray a few sentences at your feet to consider my reinstatement into service. I beg to state the following few sentences for your kind information and earliest action to save the families who are suffering without the fault of their own. I am under orders of termination. I got appointed as Jr.Clerk Cum Typist and got promoted as Sr.Clerk in the LDCE. But after serving for 7 years, and having dependends I was shocked and terminated from service without my fault and all the candidates of Emp.Notice No.4/95 except N. Sunderasan, now Office Superintendent, ADEN's office, Tandur, Secunderabad Division. We are all terminated based on Hon'ble Supreme Court Judgement in CA-1326/2002 in O.Chakradhar case. But after, judgement on Preliminary Investigation,CBI has withdrawn the case against the Chairman, RRB, Bangalore and the same has been accepted by the Designated court in Bangalore. 21st Additional City Civil Court (Special) Judge, CBI cases, Bangalore. And so the Hon'ble Supreme Court in their Judgement pronounce that, "As a result the Administration shall do well persuing the matter in the light of the CBI report so as to come to a logical conclusion." So, B-Report acceptance by the designated court has been applied to only N. Sunderasan, OS/ADEN's/O/TDU (Secunderabad Division). So I request Hon'ble Sir, please continue us in Service as N. Sunderasan, is working. We are all having family and dependants. It is very horrible to live without job, and no fault of us I have been terminated from service. It will be highly greatful pl. consider my application for reinstatement into duty, as I am very innocent and hardworking person. Pl. save the families of Emp.Notice.No.4/95, recruited thorough RRB/Bangalore. I pray very humbly to continue me into service and save may dependants and others. Dear Sir,train nos.16031 Andaman express &16093 Lucnow express are running in SCR zone with same timings&halts in different days exept MADHIRA stn.Kindly advise the concerned to arrange halt of Lucnow express at MADHIRA stn.which is very much convenient to us as there no much direct train from ramgundam to Madhira for another two days.
