Sahara India Power Corporation Limited (SIPCL), a subsidiary of Sahara India Group, has joined hands with Safesky Software of Israel to promote and manufacture advanced solar power and other technologies for Indian users. As a step towards this, Safesky Software along with SIPCL will set up a demonstrative solar power plant of 5 mw at a Sahara location in India. Safesky has advanced technologies in solar power, medical, communication and water, which will be available to Sahara India Power Corporation for marketing and manufacturing in India.

A memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed between Ashok K Bhargava, CEO, Sahara India Power Corporation Ltd and Amos Bouchnik, chairman, Safesky along with Arik Klein, president and founder, Safesky, in the presence of Subrata Roy Sahara, chairman, Sahara India Pariwar.

?This new technology is definitely going to benefit our country in a very big way. In our country, particularly in rural areas with 500 million people, the power deficit is very high and I am sure this project will definitely help our country immensely,? Roy said after signing the MoU.

Expressing his excitement over the MoU, Arik Klein said, ?I am looking forward to build the first solar station for the benefit of the Indian population.?

CEO, Sahara India Power Corporation, Ashok Bhargava said in addition to conventional power generation, Sahara Power is very keen in exploring renewable power generation methods. ?With this association we intend to bring cutting edge technology in solar power generation, which is far ahead of the present technology,? he said.
