UBS students excel
Charu Gupta and Deepika Sharma, students of University Business School (UBS), Panjab University Regional Centre (PURC), Ludhiana secured first and second positions respectively in the PU combined MBA examination. Charu is presently employed with Mahindra Finance and got placed during the campus recruitment programme. Deepika is an entrepreneur and takes care of her family business in Ludhiana. Dr Deepak Kapur, director, PURC applauded the academic achievement of the students.
UNESCO-approved award for ex-PAU prof
Former head of the Department of Languages and Journalism, PAU, Prof Hazara Singh, 88, will be awarded the Honorary Doctorate Degree of Literature for his collection of poems titled Destination. The award will be given by the World Congress of Poets, a constituent unit of World Academy of Arts and Culture, approved by UNESCO. The freedom fighter has dedicated this book to martyrs of freedom struggle. He will receive the award on December 1.
