Mardaani 3 advance collections day 1: Rani Mukerji returns in her cop avatar with Mardaani 3 as Shivani Shivaji Roy after 2019’s sequel. Investigating another grippingly haunting case, the threequel is slated for a January 30 release. This marks Mukerji’s first appearance since her National Award win, after her moving performance in Mrs Chatterjee vs Norway.

According to the latest estimates from industry tracker Sacnilk, the advance bookings for Mardaani 3 opened on January 28. While the previous films performed well at the box office, the latest in the Mardaani franchise has sold 2100 tickets so far. It is likely to gain momentum over the weekend, as it faces stiff competition from Sunny Deol’s Border 2.

Mardaani 3 advance collections: Day 1 report

Rani Mukerji’s Mardaani 3 has collected Rs 1.06 crore for its opening day, as per Sacnilk estimates. With over 3000 shows, Delhi NCR and Maharashtra booked tickets worth over Rs 50 lakh. A significant share has also come from West Bengal, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Punjab, and Karnataka, collecting over Rs 5 lakh in each state.

The upcoming investigative cop movie has sold over 2100 tickets at the box office. As per past records, Mardaani 2 opened to a Rs 3.8 crore opening day, with a lifetime gross of nearly Rs 67 crore, globally. The debut of the franchise, Mardaani, based on the horrific Nirbhaya case, collected over Rs 40 crore in India, with a Rs 10 crore profit.

The Yash Raj Film also depends largely on Mukerji’s star power pull. With no other leading role, it also features Janki Bodiwala and Mallika Prasad. It follows the powerful box office run of war film Border 2, which features seasoned stars, Sunny Deol, Varun Dhawan, and Diljit Dosanjh, with newcomers Ahan Shetty and Medha Rana.

From the makers of hit films like Band Baaja Baaraat, Gunday, Sultan, Jab Tak Hai Jaan and Tiger 3, Abhira Minawala has joined the Mardaani franchise with the current installment.
