Ever since its release on December 5, Ranveer Singh’s Dhurandhar has been nothing short of a tidal wave at the box office. It hasn’t just performed well; it has rewritten the record books, becoming the highest-grossing Hindi film in Indian history. But as the theatrical craze begins to settle, the conversation has shifted to the next big question: When can we watch it on our small screens?

If you’ve been holding out for a home viewing or just want to relive the high-stakes espionage, here is everything we know about the Dhurandhar OTT release.

Where and when will Dhurandhar stream?

While the makers have been focused on the film’s massive theatrical run, industry insiders have confirmed that Netflix has secured the exclusive digital rights for the blockbuster.

Typically, big-budget Indian films follow an eight-week theatrical window before moving to streaming. Given its December 5 release, sources suggest a tentative OTT premiere date of January 30, 2026.

However, there is a small catch. Because the film is still pulling in impressive numbers at the ticket windows, there is a possibility that the date could push into early February. Netflix and the producers (Jio Studios and B62 Studios) are likely waiting for the theatrical footfalls to dip slightly before making the official announcement.

Why the hype is real

Directed by Aditya Dhar, the man behind Uri: The Surgical Strike, Dhurandhar is more than just an action flick. It’s a grounded spy thriller inspired by the real-life “Mission Dhurandhar.”

The story follows Jaskirat Singh Rangi (Ranveer Singh), an operative recruited by IB Director Ajay Sanyal (R. Madhavan) following the 2001 Parliament attacks. Jaskirat goes deep undercover in Karachi, infiltrating the notorious Lyari gang led by the menacing Rehman Dakait (played by a chilling Akshaye Khanna).

With a powerhouse supporting cast including Sanjay Dutt and Arjun Rampal, the film has been praised for balancing gritty realism with intense scenes. It’s the kind of cinema that demands a second watch to catch all the subtle details of the tradecraft.

A box office juggernaut

To understand why the OTT release is so highly anticipated, you only have to look at the numbers. Dhurandhar has already crossed Rs 840 crore in India and shattered the Rs 1200 crore mark globally. It has become a genuine cultural phenomenon, appealing to both mass audiences and critics alike.

Dhurandhar’s sequel

The rush to get Dhurandhar onto streaming platforms is also motivated by what’s coming next. In a bold move, the makers have already slated Dhurandhar 2 for a theatrical release on March 19, 2026.

This means fans will have about six weeks to catch up on the first film via Netflix before the sequel arrives to clash with Yash’s Toxic. If you haven’t seen it yet, January 30 is the date to circle on your calendar.
