Traffic will be disrupted on a section of Old Kakrola Road in southwest Delhi due to repair work, which will keep the road closed from October 6 to 20, according to a police advisory issued on Saturday.
The maintenance work will affect traffic flow on the Tura Mandi Chowk-Shyam Vihar Chowk-Najafgarh drain stretch. According to the advisory, traffic restrictions will be implemented depending on whether a section or the entire stretch of the road is under repair.
Commuters going from Najafgarh Tura Mandi Chowk to Dwarka have been advised to use the main Najafgarh-Uttam Nagar Road till Dwarka More or the Najafgarh-Kapashera Road.
According to the advisory, motorists traveling from Dwarka towards Tura Mandi Chowk and Najafgarh will need to take Old Palam Road to reach the main Uttam Nagar-Najafgarh Road. A diversion may also be set up at Shyam Vihar Chowk, depending on the requirements.
The police have urged commuters to avoid traveling on the stretch under repair and advised against roadside parking along the Tura Mandi Chowk-Shyam Vihar Chowk-Najafgarh Drain Bridge section of Old Kakrola Road.
In a separate advisory, the traffic police warned that traffic on Ring Road will be affected due to the ongoing construction of a flyover near the Bharat Darshan Park signal and the start of work on an underpass from the Punjabi Bagh roundabout towards Raja Garden near the Bharat Darshan Red Light. Traffic in this area will move through a single lane, with disruptions expected for the next seven to eight days.
Motorists coming from Britannia Flyover and heading towards Moti Nagar are advised to take the Punjabi Bagh Flyover, the police added.
On X, the police also informed that due to construction work by DMRC, GTK Road from Shakti Nagar Chowk towards Ghantaghar will remain closed. Traffic from Azadpur will be diverted left towards Khalsa College.
