Protests erupted at few places in Maharashtra over Bollywood actor Salman Khan's tweets defending Yakub Memon, the death row convict in the 1993 Mumbai bomb blasts case.
Angry workers of the Shiv Sena blackened the poster of Salman Khan starrer “Bajrangi Bhaijaan” at Satara and also disrupted screening of the movie.
There were also reports of the movie screening being disrupted at Mahad in coastal Konkan as protesters opposed Salman Khan’s tweets defending Yakub Memon.
Maharashtra Revenue Minister Eknath Khadse in Jalgaon district in North Maharashtra today said that those sympathising with Yakub Memon should also be punished.
The 49-year-old Salman Khan said that an “innocent” is being hung for the crimes of his brother and the prime suspect in the 1993 bombings – Tiger Memon.
