Congress is finally breaking out of its `blind to dynasty’, adulatory mode. After serious debacle in the four assembly elections, and one given as a cakewalk to the rival party BJP, maybe Congress needs to find a well-meaning boss for itself who can resurrect the dying party. Otherwise, looks like, we may be heading for a Congress-mukt India. It is, indeed, good that Congress party is breaking out of its sycophancy culture and getting serious about introspecting as to what is leading to the debacle.
The Goa loss where in spite of having a majority, Congress was not able to approach the Governor with numbers ahead of BJP is troubling all the Congress leaders. This defeat would become difficult for anyone to digest. Goa has been literally given on a platter to BJP.
Congress has been showing its nervousness through a series of reactions. While questions are finally being raised on Rahul Gandhi’s leadership, Sandeep Dikshit lashed out at Rahul Gandhi saying he cannot be given more time to mature. The party members are also saying that he did not take tough decisions for the party. The Congress leaders are now saying that he is just not the leader that the party had wanted. Earlier in the day, Satyavrata had slammed Rahul Gandhi saying that Congress should have a cardiac and not a cosmetic surgery.
Congress lost in the apex court too where Chief Justice of India ticked them off by saying as to why they did not approach the governor on their numbers. So what more can happen to the grand old party of India. So when nothing is working out for the Congress party, maybe it”s time for them to find another leader or for Rahul Gandhi to become a real leader by redefining strategy for himself. Although Rahul Gandhi has been traveling across the country and meeting with cross section of people, he has never held a ground level position of responsibility to actually feel the pulse of the people.
On the other hand, the new chief minister incumbent Goa, Manohar Parrikar is an unassuming man, who is a taskmaster. So if Rahul is serious about rising in his political career, he must learn to start from the grassroots. Work hard to make his way up. No doubt, he is already born with a silver spoon but having a silver spoon can only help that much. It cannot give you the maturity and popularity of a good leader and thus not help the party. Maybe he can take a cue from some BJP leaders!
