Slamming Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi’s speech targeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister M. Venkaiah Naidu on Thursday said ‘irresponsible’ and ‘immature’ allegations are made simply to get some publicity.
“Chidambaram has freshened the mind of everyone. Debate is going on about Chidambaram ji inside and outside the Parliament for the great acts he has done. Instead of offering explanations for all this failure, it was really atrocious in part of the Congress vice-president to make meaningless charges simply to get some publicity,” Naidu told the media here.
Naidu also raised questions about Gandhi’s knowledge and maturity, saying He ( Rahul Gandhi) has not yet understood the country and is not able to see the truth also.
“He (Rahul) may be remembering that during the UPA regime it was ‘PM presides and Madam decided’ there is no such thing now. It is ‘PM presides and the team decides’. It’s all irresponsible and immature allegations,” he added.
Naidu also said that the country would like to know from Gandhi as to who said that ‘Indira is India’ or ‘India is Indira’?
Gandhi had on Wednesday attacked Prime Minister Modi during a debate on the President’s Address in the Lok Sabha.
During his half-hour long fiery speech, the Congress leader lashed out at the Prime Minister and his Cabinet ministers on issues ranging from the domestic economy, foreign relations, and MGNREGA to Rohith Vemula and JNU.
“Under the Fair and Lovely scheme, no one will go to jail, no one will get arrested; no one will be asked. Just go to Arun Jaitley, pay tax and make the money white,” he said while referring to the Black Money scheme announced during the Budget.
