Delhi ITO fire: The police have confirmed that one person has been killed in a fire that broke out on the third floor of the Central Revenue Building located at the Income Tax Office (ITO) area in Delhi today.
“The deceased was 46-year-old and was working as an Office Superintendent”, the police said.
After the fire broke out, about 21 fire tenders were rushed to the spot.
“We received a call at 3.07 pm, regarding a fire in the Income Tax CR building. We have rushed a total of 21 fire tenders. We have also informed the local police about the matter for further investigation and to maintain law and order,” officials of the Delhi fire services said.
As per the police, the fire was brought under control and that seven persons were rescued.
The building is located opposite the old Police Headquarters.
The cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained.
