Days after resigning as the Delhi Congress president, Arvinder Singh Lovely on Saturday joined the BJP.

Along with Singh, four former Congress leaders also joined the BJP in the presence of Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri and party general secretary Vinod Tawde. The four others who joined the party include former Congress MLAs who had recently left the party — Rajkumar Chauhan, Neeraj Basoya, Naseeb Singh — and Delhi youth Congress chief Amit Malik.

Lovely had quit as the party’s Delhi chief in 2015, and joined the BJP in 2017, but soon returned to Congress after nine months.

This is a breaking story. More to follow.
