Private equity (PE) firms invested about $2,646 million across 124 deals (excluding real estate) during the quarter ended March 2015. This was 20% higher than the same period last year ($2,212 million across 132 transactions), according to Venture Intelligence, a research service focused on private company financials, transactions and their valuations.
But the investments were 36% lower than the immediate previous quarter (which had witnessed $4,120 million invested across 112 transactions), Venture said.
