The Mandal Becharaji Special Investment Region (MBSIR) in Gujarat has undergone phase-I completion, turning it into a crucial hub for automobile manufacturing, housing major companies like Maruti Suzuki India and Honda.
The region encompasses 9 villages in a total area of 102 square kilometres, including Hansalpur, Sitapur, Ughroj, Ughrojpura, Bhagapura, Gitapur, Ukardi, Chandanaki and Shihore. The State government is accelerating Phase II by developing supporting infrastructure like streetlights, sewer lines, and clean drinking water, which is scheduled for completion in the next two years.
As major industrialists invest in Gujarat, the establishment of a new Maruti Suzuki plant near Bahucharaji has significantly boosted the business and employment prospects of the region, ensuring sustainable development in the near future.
Gujarat government says the MSBIR region is the world’s largest automobile hub and has become a focal point for both automobile and auto component manufacturing industries.
