The global intracity delivery company Borzo, formerly known as WeFast, has launched an electric three-wheeler fleet to offer eco-friendly logistics solutions. This move aims to provide sustainable delivery options for businesses and customers in cities, improving flexibility and efficiency in high-volume deliveries.

Borzo’s EV expansion plans

Borzo will deploy electric three-wheelers in Mumbai, in the first phase, with plans to expand to Delhi. These vehicles will handle lightweight three-wheeler deliveries, carrying up to 500 kg. The company also aims to expand its EV fleet with four-wheelers like mini trucks and tempos, capable of carrying 750 kgs. This is part of Borzo’s goal to electrify at least 30% of its three-wheeler fleet, supporting its sustainability efforts.

Borzo will partner with Gig Delivery drivers who will own their vehicles, giving them the flexibility to set their own schedules while ensuring efficiency. The company also plans to partner with electric vehicle (EV) service providers to boost sustainability, reduce emissions, and create an eco-friendly logistics network. Borzo will provide delivery partners with reliable, energy-efficient vehicles to meet growing urban delivery needs while supporting its sustainability objectives.

With this rollout, Borzo will track the performance and reliability of its EVs while working with service providers to maintain high standards. The pilot phase of EV three-wheeler deliveries will start in Mumbai, with plans to gradually increase EV numbers in both Mumbai and Delhi. Borzo aims to electrify 30% of its fleet, adding more three-wheelers and expanding to four-wheelers. The company targets 1,000 daily deliveries with three-wheelers, 30% of which will be EVs. Additionally, using electric vehicles will reduce fuel and maintenance costs over time.

Talking about this initiative, Alina Kisina, CEO of Borzo said, “Recently, Entering the three-wheeler and truck market was a strategic move driven by the need for versatile and cost-effective delivery solutions in the industry. By integrating three-wheelers into our operations, we are enhancing our capacity for volumetric deliveries and positioning ourselves as a comprehensive logistics partner. We are taking a significant step forward by adding electric three-wheelers to our fleet, which aligns with our sustainability goals by reducing carbon emissions and providing eco-friendly urban logistics solutions. The first phase of electric three-wheelers in Mumbai marks the beginning of a broader vision to expand our fleet with electric vehicles, including three-wheeler and four-wheeler options such as mini trucks and tempo delivery vehicles, to meet the growing demand for cleaner, quieter, and more efficient delivery methods.”

Borzo will offer promo codes to promote its new three-wheeler and truck delivery services to keep prices low for B2B clients. The company has recently launched three-wheeler, mini truck, and tempo deliveries and aims to onboard 1,500 delivery partners for this segment. In India, Borzo has more than 60,000 delivery partners serving the hyperlocal and SME sectors.
