Stocks to watch today, November 7

LIC

Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) reported a 31.92% year-on-year rise in standalone net profit. The insurer posted a profit after tax (PAT) of Rs 10,053 crore in Q2 FY26, up from Rs 7,620 crore a year ago. Net premium income also inched higher by 5.4% to Rs 1,26,479 crore.

Infosys

Infosys announced the record date for its Rs 18,000-crore share buyback. This marks the company’s largest buyback to date. The move follows its previous Rs 9,300-crore buyback in 2022.

Lupin

Pharma company Lupin reported a sharp 73.3% year-on-year jump in net profit to Rs 1,478 crore. Revenue from operations grew 24.2% to Rs 7,047.5 crore, outpacing market estimates. Strong sales in key geographies and better product mix supported the performance.

Cummins India

Cummins India posted a 41.3% year-on-year rise in net profit to Rs 637 crore in Q2 FY26. Operational efficiencies and better cost control helped sustain profitability.

Sterlite Technologies

Sterlite Technologies (STL) swung back to profit after a tough year. The broadband technology firm posted a net profit of Rs 4 crore in Q2 FY26, against a loss of Rs 14 crore last year. Revenue, however, slipped 4% year-on-year to Rs 1,034 crore. EBITDA rose 10.3% to Rs 129 crore, with margins improving to 12.5% from 10.9%.

Rail Vikas Nigam

Rail Vikas Nigam (RVNL) emerged as the lowest bidder for a Central Railway order worth over Rs 272 crore. The project includes the design, supply, testing, and commissioning of traction substations and related infrastructure between Daund and Solapur.

GSK Pharma

GlaxoSmithKline Pharmaceuticals reported a modest 2% rise in net profit to Rs 257.5 crore. Revenue slipped 3% year-on-year to Rs 979.9 crore.

Hindustan Construction

Hindustan Construction Company (HCC) reported a 25.2% decline in net profit to Rs 47.78 crore. Revenue fell sharply by 31.7% year-on-year to Rs 960.7 crore. EBITDA slipped 39% to Rs 147.87 crore, with margins narrowing to 15.39%

Crompton Greaves

Crompton Greaves Consumer Electricals reported a steep 43% drop in quarterly profit. Net profit stood at Rs 71 crore versus Rs 124.9 crore last year. Revenue was nearly flat at Rs 1,915 crore, up just 1% year-on-year. The company cited pricing adjustments and weak seasonal demand as key drags.
