Mau ASP RK Singh confirmed on Sunday evening that an attack was being planned on Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his visit to the town. RK said that the local police received information of life threat to Prime Minister during his Mau visit from Rasool Pati who was accused in the murder case of Haren Pandya. Reportedly, Rasool Pati along with his associates was planning to attack Pm Narendra Modi’s cavalcade with rocket launcher/vans with explosives. After getting the information PM Modi’s security has been enhanced.
Rasool Pati is one of the accused in the murder case of Gujarat’s former Home Minister Haren Pandya who was killed in 2003 when he was sitting in his car after his morning walk in the Law Garden area in Ahmedabad. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is currently promoting Bharatiya Janata Party for the Uttar Pradesh Assembly election and is in Mau for the same. BJp is trying to fight the newly formed alliance between Samajwadi Party and Congress in the state.
