Two sisters armed with a knife allegedly barged into the home of a former Uttar Pradesh deputy superintendent of police (DSP), attacking him and his family after a dispute over honking in east Delhi’s Vasundhara Enclave area, police said on Sunday.
According to officials, the incident took place on Saturday night after former DSP Ashok Sharma, a cancer patient, requested Chhavi Jain, 21, and Bhavya Jain, 23, to refrain from honking their car a day earlier, Sharma escaped with minor injuries.

Both Sharma and the sisters are residents of Anekant Apartments society. A police officer said that high drama ensued when officers were called after the women reacted aggressively.
“It has been alleged that on Saturday, both the sisters entered the house of Sharma forcefully and confronted him and his family with a knife, creating a disturbance that drew neighbours to the scene. Some residents who attempted to intervene also sustained minor injuries,” said the officer.

Following the confrontation, the sisters attempted to flee and allegedly hit a scooter rider, dragging the vehicle for a few meters and injuring a police officer. They were apprehended in Noida.
Four FIRs have been registered at New Ashok Nagar police station against the sisters based on complaints from Sharma, his daughter Reena, head constable Sunil, and scooter rider Joginder. The sisters have been charged under several sections of the Indian Penal Code, including attempt to murder, voluntarily causing hurt, wrongful restraint, and assaulting a public servant.

PTI sources mentioned that the sisters have a history of confrontational behavior, including a previous incident in which they allegedly took a security guard hostage months ago. They were also booked in September, with non-bailable warrants currently pending against them.
Investigations into all cases are ongoing under ACP Kalyanpuri, police said.
