The Delhi Traffic Police has issued traffic alerts informing the public that heavy water logging is affecting traffic in certain areas of the city.

Earlier in the day at 11:39 am, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) had tweeted that several areas in the Delhi-NCR (Chhapraula, Noida, Dadri, Greater Noida, Faridabad, Ballabhgarh) can expect to see light to moderate rainfall with light thunderstorm and lightning in the following two hours.

Here are some of the alerts from the Delhi Traffic Police

  • Traffic has been affected on Rohtak Road in the carriageway from Nangloi towards Tikri Border and vice versa due to potholes and water logging. They asked to avoid Mundka and take alternate route.
  • Anand Parvat is also seeing water logging and traffic diversions are in place. 
  • Due to heavy water logging under Dhaula Kuan Flyover, traffic has been affected on Ring Road, Vande Mataram marg and GGR. “Kindly avoid these stretches and plan your journey accordingly,” the police said.
  • In a separate tweet, the Delhi Traffic Police reported that both carriageways of Ring Road are experiencing traffic disruptions due to heavy waterlogging near Satya Niketan Bus Stand, affecting travel between Safdarjung and Dhaula Kuan.
  • Traffic was also affected on RTR in the carriageway from Moti Bagh Chowk towards Sector-8 R.K Puram due to water logging near Moti Bagh Chowk.
