Aditya Birla Nuvo on Wednesday reported that the company?s net loss for the quarter ended June 30, 2009, widened to Rs 35.3 crore from a net loss of Rs 28.3 crore in the corresponding period last year. Consolidated net sales during the quarter, however, increased to Rs 3,214.3 crore against Rs 3,098.7 crore in Q1 FY09.

Cipla net at Rs 241 cr

Cipla Ltd has posted a net profit of Rs 241.7 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2009, as compared to Rs 140 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2008. Total income has increased from Rs 1224 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2008 to Rs 1388 crore during the latest quarter. Cipla said it has approved resolution to raise funds up to Rs 1500 crore, subject to shareholders’ and other approvals.

NMDC Q1 net down 21%

State-run NMDC on Wednesday reported a 21.15% drop in net profit to Rs 773.75 crore in the first quarter ended June 30, 2009. Total income decreased to Rs 1,507.06 crore in the June quarter of 2009 from Rs 1,862.37 crore in the year-ago period.

RNRL net up 7%

Anil Ambani group firm Reliance Natural Resources Ltd’s (RNRL) net for the quarter ended June 30 rose by 7.28% at Rs 17.24 crore. Total income went to Rs 115.46 crore during the same quarter from Rs 92.92 crore in the corresponding period a year ago, RNRL said.

HDIL net dips

Housing Development & Infrastructure Ltd (HDIL) has posted a 66% dip in net profit at Rs 107.47 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2009, compared to Rs 317.94 crore reported during the previous corresponding period. The company has also reported a 46% decrease in total income at Rs 318.62 crore for the quarter under review as compared to Rs 601.13 crore .

Lupin profit up 25%

Lupin has reported a 25% growth in net profit for the first quarter of FY10 at Rs 140 crore as compared to Rs 112 crore in the year-ago period. Net sales grew by 26% to Rs 1085.6 crore from Rs 862.3 crore. Advanced markets formulation sales (including the US, Europe & Japan) increased 41% to Rs 485.8 crore during the quarter.

McDowell loss at Rs 68 lakh

Vijay Mallya-led UB Group firm McDowell Holdings reported a net loss of Rs 68.84 lakh for the first quarter ended June 30, whereas the same was at Rs 15.96 lakh in the corresponding period a year earlier. However, income from operation rose marginally to Rs 24.07 lakh during the April-June period of current fiscal from Rs 23.29 lakh of the same quarter last year.

UB Holdings net drops 87%

United Breweries Holdings has reported a net profit of Rs 1.12 crore for the first quarter ended June 30, 2009, a fall of 87% over the same period last fiscal.

Total income rose to Rs 70.12 crore in the latest quarter from Rs 56.62 crore in the year-ago period. During the quarter, the company’s revenue from the overseas market dipped to Rs 33.74 crore compared to Rs 37.31 crore in the June quarter last year.

Sun TV profit up

Sun TV Network informed the stock exchanges on Wednesday that the net profit for the quarter ended June 30, 2009, went up to Rs 119.80 crore as comapred to Rs 102.54 crore during the same quarter last fiscal. Total income has increased from Rs 239.95 crore to Rs 301.88 crore.

Hinduja Foundries loss

Hinduja Foundries Limited (HFL), a member of Hinduja Group, registered a 46% drop in turnover for the first quarter ended June 30, 2009, to Rs 67.03 crore as compared to Rs 125.20 crore in the corresponding period of last year. The loss after tax for the April-June period was at Rs 10.44 crore .

Lanco Infra net jumps 96%

Lanco Infratech has reported a jump of 96% in its consolidated net profit to Rs 115.85 crore for the first quarter ended June 30. The consolidated total income rose by more than two-fold to Rs 2,232.95 crore during the period from Rs 926.79 crore in the same quarter a year earlier.

NIIT profit drops 42%

NIIT?Ltd has recorded a 42% fall in net profit at Rs 9.9 crore for the quarter ending June 30, 2009, for the financial year 2009-10 compared to the same period last year. The company’s net revenue was up 1% at Rs 261 crore y-o-y. However, the company’s EBIDTA was up 52% at Rs 28.6 crore.

Hinduja Global PAT up

Hinduja Global Solutions on Wednesday reported a consolidated revenue of Rs 2,216.0 million for the Q1 of FY10 as against Rs 1,703.2 million in the year-ago period, a year-on-year growth of 30.1%. Its consolidated PAT for the quarter was Rs 361.5 million as against Rs 200.7 million in the Q1 of FY09.

Neyveli Lignite net up

Neyveli Lignite Corporation Ltd (NLC) has reported a net profit of Rs 287.64 crore in the first quarter ended June 30, 2009, against Rs 285.83 crore in the same period last year. Net sales had risen to Rs 884.30 crore compared to Rs 729.73 crore, in the sameperiod in the previous year.

Sales dip hits Sun Pharma

Sharp decline in domestic formulation sales and sales of the US arm hit the first quarter result of Sun Pharmaceuticals. The company’s net sales stood at Rs 788 crores, lower by 24% compared to Rs 1042 crores in Q1 of FY09. Net profit declined by 67%.

Shopper’s Stop net soars

Shopper’s Stop Ltd has posted a 116% rise in net profit at Rs 25.2 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2009, as compared to a loss of Rs 15.2 crore reported during the previous corresponding period. The company has recorded a 1% growth in its retail turnover at Rs 3,081 crore for the latest quarter compared to Rs 3,042 crore during the previous corresponding quarter.

Adhunik Metaliks PAT up

Adhunik Metaliks Ltd has reported a profit after tax of Rs 6.16 crore during the first quarter of the current fiscal against Rs 1.04 crore in the Q4 of FY09. Net sales for the period were at Rs 248.95 crore against Rs 246.94 crore in the last quarter of FY09.

Firstsource net at Rs 38 cr

Firstsource Solutions has posted a net profit of Rs 38 crore for the first quarter ended June 30, 2009, against a net loss of Rs 50 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous financial year. Revenue of the BPO firm grew 18.8% at Rs 484.5 crore from Rs 472.3 crore in the same quarter last year.
