In the wake of Rahul Gandhi’s ‘Made in Manipur’ remark, Congress leader Randeep Surjewala attacked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for taunting the Congress vice-president over making a mistake about the widespread presence of cocconuts in the region. Surjewala said, “Modiji ko jhoot aur jumlon ki aadat pad gyi hai, Rahul Gandhiji ne pineapple ke juice ke baare mein kaha tha. (Modi ji has a habit of lying, Rahul Gandhi had talked about pineapple juice.)” He then took a jibe at PM Modi and said, “Shasan ke bajaye agar mazak mein hi itna unko (PM) ruchi hai, Sidhu se kahunga Kapil ki comedy mein unhen side role dilwa den. (If he is more interested in comedy than democracy, then I will ask Navjot Singh Sidhu to get him a side role in Kapil’s comedy show)”

The poorest of poor children know that you get water from coconuts. You get juice from lime, santre, mosambi… have you ever seen or heard of coconut juice? Maybe I am unaware but tell me… Coconuts are found in Kerala but he’s saying he’ll extract coconut juice.”
