Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday met historian and Maharashtra Bhushan awardee Shivshahir Babasaheb Purandare. Soon after his meeting with the veteran novelist, PM Modi took to Twitter shared some pictures of the meeting. He also said that he had a great meeting with Purandare, who PM said is a wonderful personality. “I had a great meeting with Shivshahir Babasaheb Purandare, a wonderful personality whom I have had the honour of knowing for year,” read the caption of his tweet.

“Through his works, Shivshahir Babasaheb Purandare has connected generations of youngsters with the exemplary life of Shivaji Maharaj,” PM Modi said in another tweet. Prior to his meeting with the writer of famous ‘Shivaji’ play, PM Modi attended a conference of CEOs and Start Ups at Pravasi Bharatiya Kendra in the national capital.

While addressing the CEOs and young entrepreneurs present during the event, PM Modi urged them to work towards making India’s development a mass movement, the way Mahatma Gandhi made the freedom movement a common agenda. “When we work together, we can solve several problems the country faces. In the same spirit as what Mahatma Gandhi did for the freedom struggle, we need to make India’s development a mass movement,” ANI quoted the Prime Minister as saying.

Further in his speech PM Modi said that every citizen of the country wanted India’s freedom, but it was Gandhi ji who did something unique and made everyone feel that they work for the nation. “Every citizen must have a feeling that this country is mine and I have to work for the country, I want to add something towards its growth,” he said.

Just like the one today in the National Capital, Prime Minister Modi held a similar meeting with over 200 young entrepreneurs last week as part of the ‘Champions Of Change’ programme which was organised by Niti Aayog.
