In what could be a humble action with intent to deliver a big safety message on Karva Chauth, the Lucknow Police have gifted helmets to wives whose husbands were caught driving without one. According to news agency ANI, on the day of Karva Chauth, which is considered as very significant for married women, Lucknow Police stopped those people riding on two-wheelers without wearing helmets. But what really surprised everyone and brought smiles on their faces was the fact that they gifted helmets to these husbands’ wives in an attempt to make them realise the the importance of taking precautions and ensuring safety.

In the past, such kinds of efforts were also made by different NGOs, petrol pumps and even the government to make people aware about the significance of wearing the helmet while driving. “No helmet, no petrol” was one such kind of campaign under which petrol pumps refused to sell fuel to the person who did not wear a helmet.

Driving without the helmet is one of the biggest reason which causes deaths during road accidents and governments looks to create awareness among people about this on time to time basis.
It is a truth that driving with a helmet reduces the risk of brain injuries by up to 80 percent in an accident. That’s why wearing a helmet while driving is crucially important for everyone concerned.
