BJP MP Sakshi Maharaj today said 30 infants died in a Gorakhpur hospital because oxygen supply was cut off over non-payment of dues. He demanded stringent action against those responsible for the tragedy in Baba Raghav Das Medical College Hospital, where 30 children are believed to have died in 48 hours. “The deaths which took place in a Gorakhpur hospital were very saddening. The person, who switched off the oxygen supply on the pretext of non-payment of dues, was responsible for the incident,” the MP from Unnao told reporters.

Denying media reports that he had termed the incident as a “massacre” (narsanhar), Sakshi Maharaj said, “I have never said so. I said the deaths were not natural and steps should be taken to ensure that such incidents are not repeated in the future.”

Knowing the corruptness of governments, how do we know that this government figured that they could go without paying their bill, figuring the supplier would NEVER let children die. Well India, a business also has bills and ries to pay. Get off your pompous government asses and pay your bills.

There are multiple parties to held responsible for these deaths. There is simply no excuse for a hospital to allow a financial situation to become so bad that they risk losing a life giving necessity like oxygen. BUT, there should have been some form of government intervention to either ensure that the hospital was solvent or shut it down before it came to this. No company has the right to cease giving services that could cause death without going through government officials and getting a court order first so that there is adequate time to make arrangements for life support for the patients, even if the hospital is insolvent. So, there are a number of people complicit in this massacre. Yes, it is a massacre and public should be outraged.

So you'd kill a person over unpaid bills? You're human garbage.
