In a new twist to Sunjay Kapur‘s estate battle, Priya Kapur has objected to the forensic examination of the alleged Will, in the latest Delhi High Court submission on December 16, before the Joint Registrar Gagandeep Jindal.
Karisma Kapoor’s children, Samaira and Kiaan had moved the Delhi High Court for inspection of original copy of Sunjay Kapur’s alleged Will, calling it ‘forged and fabricated’. They cited several irregularities like incorrect or outdated addresses, pronoun or gender-reference errors, and other inconsistencies.
Priya Sachdev had opposed the forensic analysis request at the time and during the hearing on November 14, advocate of Karisma’s children Mahesh Jethmalani questioned the resistance.
On November 17 hearing, the Joint Registrar ordered Priya Sachdev and executor of the Will Shraddha Suri Marwah to explain their objections in writing within three weeks.
Priya Kapur opposed forensic examination of Will
Consequently, in her submissions on Tuesday, December 16, before Delhi HC registrar Gagandeep Jindal, Priya Kapur opposed any forensic examination of the Will.
During the Tuesday submissions, Shradha Suri Marwah, the Will’s executor, amended her previous statement regarding who she received the Will from, according to sources.
Will’s executor amends her statement
While initially Suri had said she had received the Will from Priya Kapur, she later amended her statement saying the document came from Dinesh Agarwal. Suri in the latest submissions says she received the disputed Will from Priya Kapur.
The Delhi High Court will hear both the forensic inspection plea and Suri’s amendment application on January 20, 2026.
Sunjay Kapur, a businessman and former chairman of Sona Comstar, died at the age of 54 in London in June after suffering a cardiac arrest during a polo match. Kapur was married to Karisma Kapoor from 2003 to 2016, and the couple had two children, Samaira and Kiaan. He married Priya Sachdev in 2017, with whom he had a son, Azarius Kapur.
