American singer-song writer Justin Randall Timberlake was arrested in 2024 for driving under intoxication. Now, after two years, the the bodycam footage from Timberlake’s arrest has been released. The video was made public after Timberlake agreed to release a redacted version of the footage on March 20, according to court documents, reported People.

The footage, first released by TMZ, shows Timberlake stopped by two police officers at 12:30 AM. According to the timestamp on the video, the arrest dates back to June 18, 2024. The popstar was intercepted by cops after he crossed a a stop sign and veered through out of his lane. After stepping outside his car, he was made to undergo breathalyser test, which he failed.

Justin Timberlake’s 2024 arrest footage released

Timberlake failed to walk in a straight line with heel-to-toe steps. Even after the officers explain him the process, the 45-year-old continued to lose balance and look dazzled.

He tried to convince the authorities that he had ‘done nothing’ and tries to reason with them. In the bodycam footage, he can be heard saying, “Guys, I’m just following my friends back to my house.” As he fails to walk in a straight line, he told the officers that he hadn’t done that before.

When one of the officers asked him about his car, Timberlake, claimed that he was on a “world tour” in a rented car. When the officers asked him for details, he said, “It’s hard to explain…um…I’m Justin Timberlake.”

As per procedure, he was also asked to present his driving license and was asked to step out of his vehicle. He was then put through sobriety tests to which Timberlake responded, “These are, like, hard tests.” Unable to walk like the officers demonstrated repeatedly, the pop-singer shared, “My heart’s racing.”

As per a People report, Timberlake had just left the American Hotel and was accompanied by designer Estee Stanley and her husband Bryan Furst. Stanley is also seen questioning the police officers and later offers to drive to avoid any further escalations. However, an officer later handcuffed Timberlake and told Stanley, “He was driving drunk. He failed every single test.”

Later, Timberlake was taken to the Sag Harbor Police Station until the judge could see him the next morning.

All about Timberlake’s 2024 arrest

While the footage comes years after the arrest was made, Timberlake had then pled guilty during a September 2024 hearing for a reduced charge of Driving While Ability Impaired (DWAI), a non-criminal violation.

As a result, the musician received 25-40 hours of community service, a $500 fine and a 6-month license suspension. In 2026, however, Timberlake sued the Sag Harbor Police Department, by filing a suit in the Suffolk County Supreme Court, to block the bodycam footage from being released, citing privacy reasons.

While the judge granted a temporary restraining order, citing the necessity of the same, a redacted version was released earlier today, March 21.
