The Bharatiya Janata Party Yuva Morcha has filed a complaint against a communist activist, Prabha Belavangala today at the Cyber Crime Police Station for posting morphed, tampered and obscene images of the newly appointed Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Yogi Adityanath on her social media account. The complaint read- “…Ms. Prabha Belavangala, having a Facebook account, has posted obscene, morphed and tampered images of Hon’ble Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Sri Yogi Adityanath on 20th March, 2017.” The post further read- “These images, prima facie, appears to be morphed and digitally tampered. These images depict the CM in a very poor light and is highly defamatory in nature.”

According to the complaint, BJP Yuva Morcha leaders wants action to be taken against Prabha Belavangala for offences constituting under Section 67 of the Information Technology Act, 2000 and Section 153A, 292A, 499, 500 and 505 of the Indian Penal Code, 1860. It also said that the accused is a “habitual mischief and rumours monger and has earlier tried to create disharmony in society by publishing inflammatory content…”

The Bharatiya Janata Party won the Uttar Pradesh Assembly Elections 2017 on March 11. Yogi Adityanath was appointed as the Chief Minister of the state on March 18 by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and party President Amit Shah. He took oath as the Chief Minister on March 19 in the presence of UP Governor Ram Naik.
