5 State Assembly Elections 2023: The Election Commission of India has announced poll dates for five states – Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Telangana, Rajasthan and Mizoram. All the states will go to polls in the month of November and counting of votes will be on December 3. Political parties in all states have started announcing the names of the candidates for the upcoming Assembly Elections 2023.
MP Election 2023: Full List of Candidates
Elections for 230 seats in Madhya Pradesh will be held on November 17 and the counting of votes will take place on December 3. The state is all set to see an intense electoral contest between the ruling BJP and the Congress. BJP leader Shivraj Singh Chouhan is the incumbent Chief Minister of the state. In the 230-member Madhya Pradesh Assembly, the Congress party had emerged as the single largest party with 114 seats against BJP’s 109 seats, ousting the saffron party of its 15-year rule. Congress leader Kamal Nath was sworn-in as the CM. However, 15 months later, rebellion by Congress MLAs led to the fall of the party in the state, and BJP leader Shivraj Singh Chouhan returned as the CM of the state for the fourth time.
MP Assembly Election 2023: BJP releases full list of candidates
The BJP in Madhya Pradesh has declared candidates for 228 out of the total 230 assembly seats in the state in five separate lists. The BJP announced its first list on August 17 which comprised names of 39 candidates, and two other lists were announced on September 25 and 26 containing names of 40 candidates respectively. The fourth list was out on October 9 which had 59 names of BJP candidates. Incumbent Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan will be contesting from Budhni, while State’s home minister Narottam Mishra has been given ticket from Datia assembly constituency. The party released its fifth list on October 21 which had 92 names of candidates. The party on Sunday (October 29) released its sixth and final list with two names. The saffron party has released the names of candidates from the Guna (SC) and Vidisha Constituency. Panna Lal Shakya will be contesting from Guna (SC) and Mukesh Tondon has been fielded from Vidisha. With this the party has declared all names for 230 seats.

The Congress party had announced candidates in two lists and declared its contenders for all 230 Assembly seats.
Mizoram Election 2023: Full List of Candidates
Elections to the 40-member Mizoram Assembly will be held on November 7, and the counting of votes will take place on December 3. The Congress, ruling Mizo National Front (MNF) and main Opposition Zoram People’s Movement (ZPM) have released names of all its candidates from the 40 seats. The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has also released its first list for the upcoming Mizoram Elections 2023, comprising names of four candidates. The BJP has also released two lists for the elections so far, and in total 21 names have been released so far. While its first list had 12 names of candidates, its second list comprised nine names.
Mizoram Assembly Election 2023: MNF releases full list of candidates
The ruling Mizo National Front (MNF) has released names of all its candidates for 40 seats. Incumbent Chief Minister and MNF chief Zoramthanga will be contesting from the Aizawl East – I constituency.

The Zoram People’s Movement (ZPM) has also released names of all candidates for all the seats. ZPM leader and probable CM candidate Lalduhome will be contesting from the Serchhip Assembly constituency.

The Congress party has released the names of its candidates for all 40 assembly seats. Mizoram Congress Committee chief Lalsawta has been fielded from Aizawl West-III (ST). The party first released a list of 39 candidates and then in the evening it announced the candidature of Meiriam L Hrangchal from Lunglei South (ST) constituency.
Mizoram Assembly Election 2023: BJP releases full list of candidates
The BJP has fielded 23 candidates this year. Lalrinliana Sailo, a former MNF MLA who recently resigned as assembly speaker and joined the BJP, will contest from Mamit constituency. Former minister K Beichhua, who also quit the MNF to join the BJP, will contest the polls from his own constituency of Saiha.
Rajasthan Election 2023: Full List of Candidates
Rajasthan is all set for an electrifying battle to elect the 200-member Legislative Assembly in the state on November 25 in a single phase. The Election Commission of India (ECI) had earlier announced the date as November 23, however, the date was revised later, owing to “large-scale weddings”. While the Congress is trying its best to retain power in the state, the BJP is expected to give tough fight.
Rajasthan Assembly Election 2023: Congress releases full list of candidates
The Congress on Thursday (October 26) released its third list of 19 candidates for the upcoming Rajasthan elections. On Sunday (October 22), the party had released its second list of 43 candidates, while the first list of 33 candidates was released on Saturday (Oct 21). The party released fourth and fifth list on October 31 with 61 names. With the latest lists, the party has so far announced 156 candidates for the elections in the desert state.

The BJP has released its first list of candidates for the upcoming Rajasthan Elections 2023 which comprises names of 41 candidates. The BJP on Saturday named 83 more candidates in its second list, fielding former Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje from her traditional Jhalrapatan seat. It has released two more lists and has named 184 candidates so far for the November 25 polls to the 200-member assembly.

Telangana is the last state which will go to polls on November 30. The counting of votes will be on December 3. The state is currently led by Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) chief and Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao.

The Congress has released two lists with 100 names. The Congress has declared its first list of 55 candidates on October 15. The second list comprised 45 names. Former Indian cricket team captain Mohammad Azharuddin from Jubilee Hills from Jubilee Hills seat in the Congress party’s second list.

The state is going to the polls in two phases – on November 7 and 17, and the counting of votes will be on December 3. All major political parties, including Congress and BJP has released names of its candidates. In the 2018 polls, the Congress registered a landslide victory bagging 68 seats in the 90-member assembly, while the BJP was reduced to 15 seats, while the JCC (J) and the BSP bagged 5 and 2 seats respectively.

The party had released three lists for the upcoming Chhattisgarh Elections 2023. The first list was released on October 15, which comprised the names of 30 candidates. The Congress released its second list on October 18, which had names of 53 candidates. The third list was released on October 22, which had the names of seven candidates. With the third list, the party announced its candidates for all the 90 assembly constituencies in the state.
