An encounter broke out between terrorists and security forces in the Nihama area of Pulwama, Jammu and Kashmir, on Monday morning.
The gunbattle began after security forces received inputs about a terror hideout in the Nihama area. When the security forces and the police launched a cordon and search operation, terrorists fired upon them, triggering the gunfight.
“Encounter has started at Nihama area of District Pulwama. Police and security forces are on the job. Further details shall follow,” Kashmir Zone police said on X.
According to officials, two terrorists are believed to be hiding in the area.
