US Second Lady Usha Vance has directly addressed swirling internet rumours about her marriage to Vice President JD Vance, dismissing speculation of a split and reaffirming her commitment to her family.

In a recent interview with USA Today, Usha said said doesn’t “find it fruitful” to keep track of the rumours.

“I’d rather just sort of live in my marriage and in the real world and less in kind of the fever dreams that surround it. So I mean, it is kind of a family joke, but also not something that I spend very much time thinking about,” Usha said.

Usha was recently spotted without wedding ring

The isn’t the first time the couple’s relationship has been subject to public scrutiny.

The online chatter intensified after Usha was spotted at a public engagement without her wedding ring, a detail that quickly caught the attention of social media users and sparked widespread conjecture about the state of her relationship with the vice president.

Earlier speculation was fuelled not only by the missing ring but also by other moments that users seized upon as potential evidence of discord, including a warm embrace JD Vance shared publicly at a political event.

Despite the rumours, official responses have countered the narratives circulating online. A spokesperson highlighted that the missing ring was unintentional, noting Usha is “a mother of three young children, who does a lot of dishes, gives lots of baths, and forgets her ring sometimes.”

‘Our marriage is strong’

Vance himself has referred to the marriage as strong and spoken with levity about the speculation, underscoring that social media chatter doesn’t alter the reality of their life together.

Vance’s hug with late conservative activist Charlie Kirk’s wife Erika during a memorial event held in remembrance of in October also sparked buzz online.

Several netizens romantically linked the two, despite Vance being married to Usha due to Erika’s head tilt and hand placement over Vance’s head, which many called “passionate”.

Netizens had earlier claimed she was “quiet quitting” her husband but Usha’s team was quick to dismiss the claims.
