US First Lady Melania Trump hinted that she needs to constantly supervise her 19-year-old son Barron Trump in a new interview with Fox Business.
Speaking with anchor Maria Bartiromo, the FLOTUS, who was promoting her new documentary ‘Melania’ said, parents need to be there for a child “nonstop”.
“Especially when they need you, especially at that age that Baron is,” she told Bartiromo.
‘Barron advises Donald on Politics’
Melania in her interview also divulged that Barron has followed in his father Donald Trump’s footsteps by becoming very active in politics.
“He understands politics, and he gives advice to his father,” she told Bartiromo.
Why is Barron Trump in news right now?
Barron recently made headlines due to his close online friendship with with a UK woman, whose assault case was being heard in a London Court.
The woman claimed Barron’s timely call to the UK police while she was being assaulted by her boyfriend was a “sign from God”. As per local reports, Barron made several late night calls and texts to the woman.
According to The Guardian, the suspect, who was later identified as Matvei Rumiantsev, admitted that he was “jealous to some extent” of Barron and complained that she was “frankly leading him [Barron] on.”
Barron, who is currently midway through his sophomore year at New York University’s Stern School of Business, has not commented on the case.
He originally attended classes at the school’s Manhattan campus, he opted to move back in with his parents and finish up at NYU’s DC Academic Center and has largely kept himself out of the public eye.
‘He’s spoiled and unprepared for life’
Several netizens took to X to troll Trump’s youngest son after Melania’s recent remarks, with one user writing “He’s 19 and has been completely spoiled his entire life. Of course, he’s unprepared for the real world. He’ll always be.”
Another user wrote, “If you’re parenting your adult kid ‘nonstop’ – you probably sucked at the job the first 18 years…” another commented, taking a dig at Melania.
A third individual noted, “A reminder – he’s 20 in just a few weeks, so he won’t even be considered a teenager anymore, let alone a child.”
