Playing at the Queens Sports Club in Bulawayo on January 27 (Tuesday), Mhatre picked up three wickets while Vihaan Malhotra hit a century to give India to a huge win.
What happened in the IND U19 vs ZIM U19 match in Bulawayo?
Zimbabwe, chasing 353 to win, strugglled big time, having lost their first two wickets in the first four overs only. The junior chevrons lost their way after the fall of Leeroy Chiwaula, the highest scorer for them. Chiwaula added 67 for the fourth wicket with Kian Blignaut and 49 off 41 with Tatenda Chimugoro. But his team ended up losing their last six wickets for only six runs n the board, getting all out on 148 after being 142/4.
Earlier Zimbabwe got the visitors on the mat courtesy of three quick wickets from Chimugoro, after winning the toss and opting to bowl. He got the big wickets of Vaibhav Suryavanshi, India captain Ayush Mhatre, and Vedant Trivedi in a space of 32 runs. Suryavanshi scored 52, but the major contribution came from Abhigyan Kundu and Malhotra. While the former scored 61, the latter managed to remain unbeaten on 109.
