Indian equity indices were trading Thursday’s session on a lower note, extending losses in the afternoon trade. The NSE Nifty 50 fell 170 points or 0.67% to trade at 25,880. The BSE Sensex traded 572 points or 0.66% lower at 84,435. The pharmaceutical stocks were under pressure, led by Dr Reddy’s Lab, which declined over 5%.

The Bank Nifty opened 110 points or 0.19% lower at 58,275. However, the small and midcap stocks opened the day on a flat note. The Nifty Midcap rose 41 points or 0.07% to open at 60,190.

“Yesterday’s momentum eased off on approaching recent peaks. Oscillators also appear reluctant. However, the presence of bullish continuation patterns encourages us to stay with the 26,186-26,250 view. Dips to 25,990 are expected to find buying interest. Downside marker may be placed near 25,886,” said Anand James, Chief Market Strategist at Geojit Investments.

Let’s take a look at the key factors to watch out for today’s trading session
