NTPC
NTPC has permanently halted operations at the Tanda Thermal Power Station stage-I (four units of 110 MW each) in Uttar Pradesh, effective September 1, 2025. Following approval and communication to the Central Electricity Authority (CEA), NTPC closed the facility, which trimmed the power generator’s installed and commercial capacity to 82,926 MW.
IndusInd Bank’s former Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Gobind Jain has urged the Centre to suspend the bank’s Chairman Sunil Mehta, accusing him of concealing accounting discrepancies. In a letter to the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), Jain sought government intervention and called for an independent investigation. The bank has strongly denied the charges.
Ola Electric
Japan’s SoftBank Group has pared its stake in electric scooter maker Ola Electric Mobility, cutting its shareholding to 15.68% from 17.83%, according to a regulatory filing. The Japanese investor sold 94.9 million equity shares, or about 2.15% of the company’s paid-up capital, through open market transactions between July 15 and September 2, 2025. The sale, executed by its investment arm SVF II Ostrich (DE) LLC, crossed the 2% disclosure threshold under SEBI’s takeover regulations.
Biocon
Biocon said the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has completed a routine current Good Manufacturing Practice (cGMP) inspection at Biocon Biologics’ drug substance facility at its Biocon Campus in Bengaluru, India.
Swiggy
Swiggy has rolled out a new service called Giftables, an instant gifting platform that allows users to order and deliver curated gifts within minutes. The service, currently available in Bengaluru, offers over 10,000 gift options ranging from cakes, flowers, and chocolates to perfumes, electronics, jewellery, and toys. Customers can combine multiple items into a single order and have them delivered either to themselves or directly to the recipient within 10–60 minutes.
RPP Infra Projects has won a new order worth Rs 134.21 crore from the Maharashtra State Infrastructure Development Corporation (MSIDC) for road improvement works in Raigad district. The project involves upgrading the Matheran–Neral–Kalamb road (SH-109) and the Lobhyanchiwadi–Sugve–Pimpaloli–Neral road (MDR-104), spanning nearly 31 km in Karjat taluka. The order is to be executed within 12 months.
Varun Beverages
Varun Beverages incorporated a joint venture company in India, White Peak Refrigeration Pvt. Ltd., to manufacture visi-coolers and other refrigeration equipment. The company informed exchanges that the incorporation of the JV follows its earlier disclosure in July, when it first intimated plans under Regulation 30 of SEBI’s Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements.
